It's Day 18 on HCG

I love the HCG Diet. My 18th day was definitely a good one. I lost another pound; just one, but I'm feeling fabulous. It feels extra fabulous because I was stuck at 156 and I was just so excited to see a different number on the scale!

The birds woke me up this morning. That sounds so sweet and "Country Living" but I have to say...it's annoying when it means that you missed out on your last hour of uninterrupted sleep. Even in the midst of my annoyance I remembered to get on the scale and when I saw that it said 155 instead of 156 I was more than excited. Three days at the same weight while on an intensive diet is an eternity!

I took my B-Total first (yeah extra energy) and then took my HCG. I had some Green Tea. It's still yucky, but it does help me lose weight so I put up with it!

I focused on lots of water drinking all morning. I had several huge glasses before lunch. Then I had the leftover soup from last night (chicken asparagus). I'm probably starting to sound really boring because I eat the same stuff so often, but this particular soup is really, really yummy. It's my new favorite.

I added Melba Toasts back in today (I broke the plateau so I'm thinking I don't need to forego the only starch I'm allowed anymore). So I had Melba Toasts with my soup at lunch and then I had an apple in the afternoon. I squeezed lemon juice on it; I'm really getting attached to that little trick.

Dinner was another leftover: steak from yesterday's lunch. I had Spicy 3 Pepper Melba Toasts with it as well as a handful of strawberries and sliced tomato. Day 21 on my HCG Hormone Therapy Program

The results I've seen on the HCG hormone therapy program are absolutely amazing. For dinner I had my third dose of HCG and then had chicken, strawberries and Melba Toasts with asparagus. I tried Vanilla Creme Stevia on my strawberries. It wasn't good. I think I overdid it.

Too late I got online and looked up info on the Stevia and found out that you only need a teeny, tiny bit and that if you use too much the aftertaste is far too strong, etc. So that explains why it wasn't yummy for me. I put a ton in comparison to the suggested amounts in the reviews. The flavor totally overwhelmed the strawberries. So next time I'll know to cut way back! - 17273

If you or someone you know suffers from hemmoroids, you are not alone. There are some 10 million people in just the United States who live with this condition. But what exactly are they, and is there anything you can do to prevent them?

Hemorrhoids form when veins become swollen. If the swollen veins are inside the rectum, they result in internal hemorrhoids. If outside, in the anal area, the resulting hemorrhoids are external. The symptoms experienced will depend on which type of hemorrhoid you have.

Internal hemorrhoids do not normally produce pain. This type will present with bleeding that is bright red, usually upon passing stools. Be aware that other conditions can cause this. Bleeding should always be checked with your physician for the correct diagnosis.

External hemorrhoids are usually painful and itchy, particularly when irritated. This can happen during defecation or cleaning yourself in that area. In some cases, just sitting is enough to provoke the symptoms.

The veins become enlarged when there is an unusual amount of pressure on them. This can happen when one has either diarrhea or constipation due to the excess strain. Pregnancy is also a common cause of hemorrhoids, due to the pressure the baby puts on the veins in the pelvic area. The process of childbirth then makes the condition worse.

Sitting for long periods of time and obesity are also believed to lead to hemorrhoids. Hypertension as well can lead to this condition. And, of course, anything which leads to constipation as a symptom can be the underlying factor which causes the vein swelling.

One can help to prevent hemorrhoids by avoiding the causes of constipation. For example, by eating a diet that has a good amount of fiber. If you are overweight, start up a program for losing pounds. Everyone can benefit from exercise that improves the muscle tone in the area. In addition, it is best not to wear clothing that is tight and can irritate the area around the anus.

If you frequently suffer from constipation, a supplement taken daily may be of help. It is at least a good idea to have it on hand when you are experiencing difficulties. Drinking plenty of water every day will also help stave off constipation.

External hemorrhoids are usually fairly easy to treat at home. First, of course, are the dietary measures to relieve constipation if present. Witch hazel or another astringent applied topically can help. There are also over the counter hemorrhoid medications that can be used, either in ointment or suppository form. A warm bath can also help relieve the irritation and pain and aid in shrinking the hemorrhoid.

In the case of internal hemorrhoids, the same dietary changes to relieve constipation can be of use. In more severe cases, there are treatments that cut off the blood supply to the hemorrhoid, such as tying it off with elastic bands or suturing off the blood flow. As with most health conditions, there are also a variety of natural remedies that can be tried. Surgery is not normally necessary and should be avoided if possible.

This exercise is simple to learn and uses both your upper and lower abdominal muscles. Begin by hanging from a bar or door frame with adequate clearance so your feet are off the ground. Slowly raise your knees to your chest and pause for one second. Then slowly lower your legs back to the starting position. It may take some time for you to do ten repetitions. Once you accomplish that goal, slowly build up to three sets of ten.

By focusing on exercises like abdominal crunches and hanging leg raises, you're building your abdominal muscles. These muscles are essential for having what is commonly referred to as a six pack. The next step is to reduce excess belly fat through aerobic exercise. The best way to do this is with an activity like running or jogging. You can also cycle or swim but most people find running to be the easiest. By reducing your body fat percentage, you can quickly peel away the excess fat around your midsection and show off your abdominal muscles.

Improving your abdominal muscles takes a combination of the right exercises and proper nutrition. Diet is often a contributing factor to lean muscle mass so be sure to drink plenty of water and consume adequate amounts of protein.
