How Can Taking Aspirin On A Daily Basis Cause My Easy Bruising?

By Carolyn Cooper

If whenever the weather shifts you sense the pressure change and get a headache , or you take aspirin to relieve the pain from a brisk workout, you are probably unaware that aspirin can have an affect on the way that you bruise. If you happen to look down and determine that you are now bruising more often, you'll have to consider how aspirin might be affecting you.

How can aspirin cause you to be subject to bruising more easily? The fact that aspirin could be the culprit causing your easy bruising is related to the fact that it acts as an anti-platelet aggregate. This simply means that your platelets are kept from clotting or clumping together. While aspirin doesn't work the same as a so-called "blood thinner", it does act in a very similar manner.

When you have fallen down or gotten a nasty cut, most doctors will suggest that you take a pain killer that is not aspirin, even if aspirin is what you are accustomed to. The reason is that when you take aspirin, you will simply bleed more freely than you would otherwise, because your body is not clotting your blood as fast as it otherwise would without the influence of aspirin.

You can now readily see why using aspirin can become a cause for bruising easily. The result of a rupture in a blood vessel under the skin is a bruise. When the skin is not broken, the blood seeping from the ruptured vessel will pool beneath to the skin, creating those black and purple discolorations called bruises.

The more damaged the blood vessels become, the more blood pools below the skin, and the more dramatic the bruise's appearance. If you are taking aspirin regularly, you may experience small bumps becoming bruises that are much more dramatic than they otherwise would be.

If you are dealing with bruising easily, you will likely want to make sure that you minimize the bruising as much as you can. No one likes needing to wear long sleeves and long pants to hide bruises, but short of getting rid of the aspirin in your medicine cabinet, what can you do?

You can find the answer relatively easily. Your doctor can provide you alternatives for aspirin for you to use as a pain killer. If taking aspirin causes you bruise dramatically, there is no reason to feel that there isn't anything that you can do to alleviate this condition. To get rid of bruises after they have already formed, you will have to discover a way to dissipate the pooled blood below the skin while trying to heal the blood vessels.

You should investigate using Bruises Be Banned, which is a uniquely formulated supplement product that can help existing bruises fade quicker, but it has really been designed to help reduce bruising easily or prevent bruising altogether before the bruising occurs in the first place. Following the recommended daily program can yield great results in overcoming your tendency to bruise easily. - 17273

Muscle Building Equipment: Keep it Simple

By Robert Harvard

When it comes to muscle building, lots of people think they need to join a gym in order to reach the results their after. This simply isn't true, as you can get the results your after in the comfort of your own home; you just need the proper bodybuilding equipment. First, you have to determine what your goals are. If your goal is to get big, then you can build your base using the most basic of equipment. It's only after you hit a plateau that you may need to go heavier.

In the beginning, however, you only need a couple of dumbbells or a workout machine to get the results you're after. In fact, all the bodybuilding equipment you need can be purchased at your local department store for less than a hundred dollars in most cases.

Dumbbell Workouts

Using dumbbells as your bodybuilding equipment is a great way to get the results you're after. If you're using the bodybuilding equipment at a gym, there are usually racks of dumbbells in various denominations so that you don't have to pause too long between sets. Plate dumbbells can be switched quickly from light to heavy, depending on the body part you're working, and you don't have to wait for someone to finish their set, as you would at a gym.

Machines

Using machines as bodybuilding equipment is also great. If you're working out at a gym, using the machine bodybuilding equipment will enable you to build your base using proper form and lighter weights. As you get better, you'll want to move to free weights to increase your muscle size and endurance. If you're at home, a machine purchased online or at a fitness store, such as the Bowflex, will help you reach your goals in no time.

It must be noted that, no matter what type of bodybuilding equipment you're using, you should remember to keep safety first in mind. Never lift too heavy, remember to keep proper form, and remember to get plenty of rest between workouts.

Whether you're at a gym or at home, having the proper bodybuilding equipment is not enough. You must learn how to use the equipment correctly so that you can maximize your results. Just remember to keep to your routine, keep your expectations realistic, and more importantly never give up. - 17273

Ovarian Cyst Removal - What You Need To Know Before You Go Under That Surgical Knife.

By Lisa Page

Are you thinking surgery is the only ovarian cyst removal option available to you? If that is correct then you have to be able to answer this question without a shadow of doubt - Have you exhausted all other available options of treatment?

If for whatever reason you haven't then you need to continue reading.

There are two main surgical ways of removing ovarian cysts - laparoscopy and laparotomy.

Laparoscopy is used if the cyst is small and benign and is usually done under general anaesthesia. It involves an incision into the abdomen and a small surgical instrument used to remove the cyst.

The other ovarian cyst removal method - laparotomy is a more complex form of surgery and is usually used where the surgeon suspects the cyst to be cancerous or at the risk of being cancerous.

Again this surgery is done under general anaesthesia but involves making a bigger incision in the abdomen.

This is so that if need be the doctor will be able to remove surrounding tissues such as the lymph nodes if there is a chance that it can become cancerous as well.

The important thing to note is that ovarian cancer is very rare and that the vast majority of surgeries are unnecessary.

The biggest decision you have to make is just before you go under that surgical knife when you fill out the form giving the surgeon consent to not only remove cyst but also your ovary or potentially uterus if they think it may cause you problems.

After the surgery you may wake you to discover you are now unable to have children for the rest of your life because your ovaries have been removed during the surgery or that you will need to be on hormone replacement therapy forever.

The question is have you exhausted all other options of removing ovarian cyst and is surgery your last resort? If your answer is yes, then by means go ahead with the surgery.

But if you have not considered and tried other forms of treatment such as natural and holistic healing combining a mixture of diet, exercise, stress management, reducing toxin overload, and using natural hormones then you are leaving out a form of ovarian cyst removal treatment that has helped thousands of women. - 17273

The Story of Woman Body Building

By James Cook

Woman bodybuilding is a serious sport. Not all bodybuilders compete, but it is an option for those who are extremely dedicated to their craft. In the earliest years, female bodybuilding was little more than a bikini contest. The women were not truly muscular and toned.

It wasn't until the late 1970's that these competitions actually began. In the early 1980's, female bodybuilding competition became serious. Women were now being judged on their muscularity and form just like male bodybuilders. Several women emerged immediately as forces to be reckoned with. The promoters of female bodybuilding were handpicking women based on how well they could be promoted to the world. Women had to send in resumes and photographs in order to be considered for the competition.

Within a few years, there were several major female bodybuilding competitions available, including NPC (National Physique Committee) Nationals, Ms. Olympia, and Ms. International. As these competitions increased in number and popularity, women focused more and more on muscularity. This decade saw the inception of the American Federation of Women Bodybuilders. This was a gigantic step in the right direction for female bodybuilders.

Changes in Female Bodybuilding

When the 1990's rolled around, female bodybuilding began to face a lot of controversy. Many people felt that women were being chosen still based on their marketability rather than based on the set standards. It was even stated in some of the rules that femininity was going to be judged and that women should not be too large. This was met with extreme disapproval from spectators.

The popularity of female bodybuilding was growing stronger and stronger. While previous competitions had been televised, it would be months after the competition had actually taken place. In the 1990's, these competitions were sometimes televised live. These competitions were no longer considered "filler" programming, but garnered enough viewers and sponsors to be televised live.

Female bodybuilding is still not as widely watched as male bodybuilding and therefore, women receive far less money in prizes. It is more difficult to find sponsors and turn bodybuilding into a career. The new millennium saw many rule changes that have made female bodybuilding much more appealing, but the lack of money involved is still discouraging.

Female bodybuilding is only going to continue to gain in popularity. Even though it has been almost three decades since these competitions began, it seems that the rules are still being ironed out. Eventually, there will be more stability and female bodybuilding will be recognized as what it is: a true competitive sport. - 17273

My 5 Favorite Core Stability Exercises

By Thaya Kareeson

Core stability training is designed to strengthen your torso with its wide range of muscles from abdominal muscles, internal and external obliques and the muscles that are running along the spine. Why should they need to be strengthened?

A balanced training program to strengthen your core will not only improve your overall fitness and feeling fit, but also help avoid back and neck pain and even injuries that can result from weak muscle groups that do not give sufficient support to the bones.

One important thing to remember when performing core stability exercises is to make sure you activate all of your torso muscle groups evenly. The following is a list of five top exercises that will help you activate all of your torso muscles evenly.

1. Straight Crunch. The straight crunch is the classic exercise that strengthens the "6-pack abs" portion of the torso muscles.

2. Crossover Crunch. The crossover crunch helps strengthen the side and front abdomen by adding twist in the typical straight crunch.

3. Back Extension. Start by laying down on your stomach and then start contracting your back muscles. This will help work out muscles along your spine.

4. Arm Sweep. Seat yourself in a slightly leaned-back position then start twirling your arms like a helicopter while twisting your upper body back and forth around the hips. This exercise works out the external obliques.

5. Plank or Push-Up. This exercise strengthens the transverse abdominals (muscles that are deep within your abdomen and are wrapped around the spine). These muscles are most responsible for stabilizing your spine so they are necessary to help avoid back pains.

Performing these exercises in a balanced way will favor a specific muscle group in each exercise while working out the complete core training package. It may be best to get yourself a personal trainer, especially during the beginning stages of core stability training. That way you can quickly achieve great results as fast as possible. After such quick success from personal trainer help, you can then move on to more advanced exercises to maintain good core strength. - 17273

Why Am I Bruising Easily Since I Started Using The Prescription Drug Nimodipine?

By Carolyn Cooper

When you have been prescribed Nimodipine, you will find that it is an considered to be an effective solution for a variety of conditions, but you will also find that there is a strong chance that it also comes along with side effects of easy bruising. You may be walking along and suddenly realize that there is a large black and blue bruise on your arm or leg that should not be there. If this is the case, there are a few things that you need to know about Nimodipine.

Upon study of the drug, you will learn that Nimodipine is usually used to treat symptoms involving a ruptured blood vessel located in the brain. This type of hemorrhage is not only dangerous but sometimes even deadly, and you will find that Nimodipine helps improve this condition by increasing blood flow to that portion of the brain that is injured.

Other than brain hemorrhages, Nimodipine is a frequently prescribed drug for a variety of different conditions. Because this drug enjoys a long and to effective history for the treatment of a variety of different conditions, it becomes an very easy and comfortable route for your doctor to take, without taking into consideration other equally effective drugs also available for prescription. You should learn if there are other options you might have regarding prescription Nimodipine if you are concerned about its side effects, and you should research any prescription drug that you are going to be taking in the same way.

One of the uses for Nimodipine outside of emergency situations is to take it in small doses for migraine headache prevention. Nimodipine is one of the most popular treatments for severe migraine headaches, and should you have to deal with migraines, it should be seriously considered as a possible treatment.

In almost any dosage or use, this drug will increase blood flow, and you will find that you are more apt to bruise more often and more dramatically. Your easy bruising is likely not being caused from your regular activities, but more likely because of your use of Nimodipine. Using Nimodipine is not allowing normal clotting to occur as fast as it otherwise would, and you are bruising more frequently.

If you bump into something hard, your skin may not be broken, but the small blood vessels beneath your skin could still be broken. This results in blood pooling more freely below the skin until it finally clots; and without the side effects of Nimodipine, you would probably clot rapidly enough that you wouldn't see a visible bruise at all.

If you are using Nimodipine, however, you will find that the clotting action is slowed and the blood flow is much more rapid. Depending on the dosage that you are using, the bruising caused by a simple bump can be quite dramatic.

Since Nimodipine is generally used for a short while, you should consider a daily supplement program like Bruises Be Banned for overcoming normal easy bruising. This all natural, unique formula has been designed cause existing bruises to vanish as quickly as possible; but more significantly, it has been proved repeatedly to help you overcome the easy bruising that affects some people and it then helps reduce bruising or prevent bruising easily altogether before it ever happens. - 17273

Yeast Free Diet - Food Allergy & Intolerance Test

By Matt Bournston

Right, if you think you might have a food allergy or food intolerance, there are a few ways that you can test to see if you do indeed have an intolerance to specific foods. One method is called the Pulse Test, and the other way is to get a blood test done.

Blood Test

Having a blood test is probably the best way to be absolutely certain whether or not you are able to tolerate certain ingredients. What happens is, you have some blood taken, and then this blood sample is sent away to be tested against certain ingredients. The advantage of this method is that your blood can be tested against many different ingredients, and can then give you a clear picture of how you react to different foods. However, the down side is that it costs quite a lot of money.

Pulse Testing

A free alternative is the Pulse Test. This can be done at home. The disadvantage is that it is more time consuming, but it is free, so it's worth considering if you don't have any spare money.

Instructions:

First you need to cut out all suspected foods for a few weeks, and then for each food (with at least 10 days between each), do the following:

1. Make yourself a meal or snack containing a lot of the chosen food.

2. Lie down for several minutes, until you feel that you are totally relaxed.

3. Once you feel like you're completely relaxed, take your pulse. This is your resting pulse rate. Note it down.

4. Consume the food.

5. Take your pulse rate at 5, 10, 30 and 60 minutes after eating the food. Write each number down. Also note any immediate symptoms, if there are any (not always).

6. If any of your pulse rates after eating the food are 10 points or more higher than your original resting pulse rate, then it means your body feels challenged by the food you have just eaten.

7. Over the next 3 days, note any symptoms, as often symptoms can appear up to 3 days afterwards. - 17273

Take the Risk and Effort Out of Gaining Weight and Muscle

By Ricardo d Argence

The best way to gain weight and muscle naturally and fast is through the combination of the proper diet and the right exercises.

The single safest and totally natural way that you can gain weight is simply by eating more food. But to accomplish his safely make sure to eat the correct foods.

You should know by now that protein has got to be consumed if you are into bodybuilding. Proteins is basically the building block for life and for the muscle fibers. There are though other things that help with the weight gain and adding muscle quest, that is many times overlooked.

One of these is carbohydrates, they play a vital part in the gaining of muscle and weight. Just think of them as gasoline for the human body, they fuel it. During your intense workout sessions, your body relies on the carbohydrates for its main draw for energy. You will find both simple and the complex carbohydrates exist. However, the bodybuilders need to eat the complex carbohydrates due to the fact that their bodies do not absorb these as quickly.

These also give you a sustained energy source. The sources that are best for the complex carbohydrates include whole grain bread, legumes, rice, pasta, and starch-type vegetables. Good sources for this type of fat are foods like olive oil, salmon, avocados, salmon, walnuts, and canola oil. You can chow down big time on complex carbohydrates and protein, but just eat moderate portions of fat, this is key. With each meal eat some fat and the after you have finished your workout. Abs Training Exercises: How To Get Ripped Abs

By Mitch Graves

The six pack is widely known as the holy grail of fitness.

They say this for good reason too because that area has the most stubborn fat storage region on your body.

If you're carrying around a lot of belly fat, this can be very frustrating. All you want to do is get rid of it!

Well I'm here to show you the most effective abs training exercises that build muscle the fastest. Of course you have to also focus on nutrition and cardio.

I personally had a toned midsection from all the sports I was doing, but I didn't have a really defined six pack. I switched up what I was doing with this one tip I'm about to teach you and got phenomenal results.

The tip that gave me a ripped six pack was to add weight! Once I began to train my abs like other muscles, they began to grow like other muscles.

So here are 3 great abs training exercises for ripped abs.

1. Rope Pull Down Crunch

* Get a mat and set the pulley up high
* Crouch down on your knees about 4 ft away from the column
* Adjust the weight accordingly
* Grab the rope and do a crunch
* Most importantly - keep your hips still and curl your torso down
* Try to pull your elbows to your knees
* Keep your chin tucked in to take stress off your lower back
* Hold for a sec, then release

With this exercise, you get a full range of motion and your abs remain in tension throughout the movement. Do the standard 8-12 reps for 3 sets.

2. Hanging Knee Raise

* Use a pull up bar to hang and hold yourself suspended
* Bend your knees
* Curl your knees toward your chest while keeping your knees bent
* Try to come as close to touching your knees to your elbow as possible
* Make sure you use your abs for this and not your hip flexors

Later, you can add 5, 10, or 15lbs weights to your feet as you get stronger. 8-12 reps for 3 sets.

3. Decline Bench Sit Up

* Adjust the height of the bench for your skill level (more declined for advanced)
* Grab a 5 lb weight in each hand and hold them next to your head
* Do a sit up like normal while keeping your chin tucked
* On the way down, don't let your shoulders touch the bench, but hover, then go back up

This exercise also allows for a full range of motion because you drop below the horizontal. Dumbbells are better than the plates for this exercise. 8-12 reps for 3 sets.

These abs training exercises are sure to pack on tons of muscle to your six pack. They'll give you that great pop-out washboard look that's the envy of the gym. - 17273

TMJ Pain and TMJ Exercises

By Bart Icles

It can be quite annoying to suffer from TMJ disorder. Not only does this disorder cause great pain, it can also be tricky to diagnose. TMJ disorder has a wide range of symptoms and many of these symptoms are observed away from the jaw joints. This makes it difficult for medical professionals to determine whether a person is truly suffering from TMJ or if that person is suffering from some other medical condition. Nevertheless, there are several experts you can turn to if you suspect that you are suffering from TMJ disorder. These experts can recommend ways on how you can lessen the pain brought by TMJ and how you can rid yourself of such a condition. There are lots of ways of treating TMJ and TMJ exercises are among the most popular methods of treatments.

TMJ exercises do not require you to do any fancy movement or use any expensive equipment. All you need is a room or space where you can be comfortable and few minutes each day. You might be surprised at how simple the exercises might be and you will even be more surprised at how effective they can be in lessening the clicking and popping in your jaw joints, relieving you of the pain you feel, and realigning your jaw joints.

Depending on how severe your condition is, there are some exercises that you can do at home. To be sure that you will not be aggravating your present condition, you can seek help from your doctor. Most exercises for your jaw joints will require you to face a mirror so you can observe your jaw as you move it. In doing so, you will need to open and close your mouth in a slow manner. If it is moving from side to side, you might want to proceed with exercises for your jaw joints.

Simply opening and closing your mouth slowly, evenly, and smoothly can already help much in keeping your jaw joints in their proper alignment. While this kind of exercise might appear to be simple, this can be quite difficult to do if you are really suffering from TMJ. What is good about this exercise is you can do this practically anywhere as long as you are free from distractions.

There are still tons of TMJ exercises out there that can help you relieve yourself of TMJ pain. You can learn more about these exercise in home medical books, health and fitness journals, and in several websites that discuss TMJ disorder and TMJ treatment. - 17273

Best Ways To Burn Belly Fat

By Brad Setti

Everyone wants to know if aerobics is better than strength training or cardio better than intervals. The main question is "What is the best way to lose my belly fat?"

It would be an understatement to say I have tried them all.

With over 15 years experience helping others, training myself, training for sports, spending countless hours in the gym, AND actually conducting laboratory research studies on different exercise methods, I'm pretty confident in knowing what works and what does not.

But first of all, I want to frame my responses. I'm going to talk about what works for people that have a limited amount of time to exercise, mostly because I expect your readers don't have 90 minutes per day to devote to a workout, unlike the typical audience of a fitness magazine.

That's why there is a huge disconnect between some of the information found in magazines and the ability of the reader to apply it to their lives.

You don't need 6-8 hours/week to exercise. Maybe if your goal is a triathlon you do. But for those of us trying to lose and tone there is still hope.

Having said all that, the bottom line for getting a better body is...

Use bodyweight exercises to warm-up, strength training supersets to build muscle, and then finish your workout with interval training to burn fat in a short amount of time. I've structured my system so that you are in and out of the gym in 45 minutes, three times per week.

Spend 5 minutes warming up with bodyweight exercise. If you spend 5 minutes on a treadmill it will only prepare you for more time on the treadmill. Using bodyweight will be much more efficient.

Then we move into the strength training supersets, where we use two exercises performed back to back with minimum rest between each. This cuts our workout time, while still giving us maximum results. We only need 20 minutes for this, and we'll use basic exercises, and sometimes even more bodyweight exercises, depending on the client's goal for muscle building.

Last but not least, interval training for 18 minutes. It is important to warm up. Next do six short intervals at your skill level while using short periods of low intensity recovery.

Most people run, cycle or ride a cardio machine for 45 min. straight which will burn calories. But won't get you that six pack.

In fact, long slow cardio has a downside. We already know results are different. But overusing muscle groups leads to injuries and it is an inefficient form of exercise. When are you going to build your muscles and sculpt that beautiful body if you are on a cardio machine for 30-45 min straight?

The best way to burn belly fat is fast and fun and it works using a combination of strength training and interval training - 17273
