5 Tips On How To Lose Fat

By Dr. Bill

Well, the President made an appearance on Jay Leno, where he was trying to be your everyday hardworking executive, and he did okay, if you like your President on late night television.

He did make that one little (meaning big) mistake about comparing his bowling skills to those of a member of the Special Olympics. Oops. That's what happens when you let down your guard on late night television and try to relate to the audience by being funny.

Try to imagine what would have happened if Sarah Palin had said something like that. The liberal media's perception of her is that she is brainless and unqualified, so we would never hear the end of it if she had compared herself to a Special Olympian. Obama caught some flak, but he apologized and that was the end of it.

And then there is Speaker of the House Pelosi, meeting with illegal immigrants, and telling them what patriots they are"like she would know. Pelosi comes from a bankrupt state, and one of the things that put the state in the drink was the cost of free health care for illegals. And with Obama we get more of the same. Not only will these people not pay any taxes, they'll get benefits denied to those who work hard and play by the rules. Change you can believe in, right?

Okay, let's change the subject.

I want to offer you some easy fat loss tips. If you want to lose weight, you have to lose fat. To lose fat you must increase your metabolism.

1. Drink a lot of water. Water, not Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, or any other sugar laden beverage. That would include a lot of so called fitness drinks. Your body needs about 16 ounces of water every two hours while your are awake. If you are involved in vigorous exercise you need to up the ante on the water considerably, going as high as a gallon an hour, if you are exercising in the heat.

2. It's important to eat six to eight times per day. Try to eat a little something when you wake up, even if you are heading out to exercise. It's a good way to get your system in gear. You can break down your six to eight eating times in whatever way works best for you -- it can be 2 meals and 5 snacks, or 3 meals and 3 snacks -- just so you are not going hungry or skipping meals. Skipping meals is a sure way to self-destruct your weight loss plan -- it just creates hunger and you are likely to binge later.

3. Consume food of high quality. This means no fast food, and no junk food. Look for high-quality protein, and don't eat processed foods that are labeled low-fat or no-fat. Those type of products contain a very high percentage of sugar. Try to eat as many highly colored vegetables and fruits as you can, and make sure there is at least one green vegetable is included with each meal.

4. Take high quality supplements, such as ultra pure, deep water, small fish pharmaceutical grade fish oil softgels, that will increase your metabolism and generate increased fat burning.

5. Lower your sugar intake and eat more fiber. Find out which vegetables and fruits have the highest amounts of fiber and be sure to include them in your daily diet.

A friend of mine recently dropped about 25 pounds, and one of the things he told me was, BillI just cant tell you how important increasing my water intake was. I started off drinking a gallon of water a day, and it was like the first 15 pounds just fell off. And once that first 15 pounds was gone, I started sleeping better, and His goal is 40 pounds, and hell make it easily, following just a few special concepts. - 17273

By Thong M. Dao

All of those fresh and flavorful juicy fruits and veggies are good for you. These items contain about 90 to 95% water, so you can eat a lot of these and they will fill you up without adding on the pounds.

5. Boost your fibre consumption. Like I said, the body demands lots of fibre. So attempt to include in your diet as many fruits and veggies as you can.

6. Eat intelligently. The difference between man and beast is that we are driven by intelligence while beasts are driven by instinct. Don't just eat something because you feel like eating it. Ask your self whether your body really needs it.

7. Get a handle on the sweet tooth. This doesn't mean you can't have your sweets; just don't eat them as a meal. Always remember that these sweets end up adding to an area that you don't want them to add to. Don't deprive yourself either though, because then you'll eat twice as many as you should. - 17273

Some have surgery to shrink the size of their stomachs in hopes of limiting the amount of food they can physically consume. Once you understand what these foods are, it is a simple matter to choose dishes that avoid them.

This type of diet does has its drawbacks. Since carbohydrates count for most food groups except for protein, then often what happens is people are restricted to one food group. That food group often contains high saturated fat, whole milk, red meats cheese etc. Most people do well at the start then miss the sweetness that fruit has or the crunchy that comes from chips, once foods are reintroduced then cravings return and back to old habits.

To some people eliminating all those carbs or comfort foods is difficult at first. No toast in the morning for breakfast, that beer after work, but now there is available low carb beer. Low carb dieting doesn`t have to be difficult. Most people create their own difficulties. Bottom line, know what you can have on the plan and stick to it. Best advise research options and plan what your goals are Low carb dieting isn`t for everyone, but it sure works once you give it a try. Do I Need A Tinnitus Test?

By Matt Hellstrom

If you or somebody you know has ever had ringing, buzzing or whistling in the ear, you might be asking what it could be. Chances are, it may be a condition called "tinnitus," which comes from the Latin for "ringing." And once you think you have it, and need to be tested, you might be asking what makes up a tinnitus test?

People who experience tinnitus relate that they hear a constant or intermittent ringing or buzzing. This noise can be a low hum or a sharp whistle, for starters. Most times, it doesn't go away or lessen in volume. For a few, it's there 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and its severity can often become a major issue.

People suffering from this problem will go to a doctor complaining of buzzing or ringing in the ear. Keep in mind that tinnitus itself isn't an illness but a sign of some other condition that's causing the buzzing or ringing. It might also occur because of an allergy or reaction to some medicine. Additionally, extreme noise can help to cause it. Remember to explain your symptoms to your physician when you're being examined.

Steady ringing in the ear is one sign of tinnitus. It's also possible you may hear a sharp whistling tone which won't go away. Most of the time, you'll be the only one to hear it, and it may appear and disappear and then reappear. Don't confuse the once-in-a-while ringing or whistling tone you may hear with tinnitus, though. That, according to fable, is just because somebody's talking about you!

How tinnitus affects people varies from person to person. Being a purely subjective illness, some people complain of serious problems, while other describe it as no more than a nuisance, like a mosquito buzzing in their ear. An interesting fact is that doctors themselves can sometimes hear the sound tinnitus creates in the ear of the person affected. The medical name for the sound is "bruit," which is a general term for any sound an illness may cause in a person.

Tinnitus can be hard to test for, because of its subjectivity. Usually, the first thing to do is get a hearing exam. Some physicians will do a "Tinnitus Handicap Inventory," to measure how severe the problem is before devising a treatment schedule. Also, giving the doctor a history of problems you might have is a good idea. Try to be upfront during this examination, because tinnitus may also go along with memory loss, poor general health, fatigue or anxiety. A tinnitus test and any treatment relies upon getting a good physical history, and embarrassment over one of these problems will hinder, not help, possible treatment.

If the ringing in your ears that you've begun to experience doesn't go away, you should see a doctor. A tinnitus test isn't complicated, and usually doesn't take much time. Please do everything you can to assist your physician in getting to the root causes behind the tinnitus so that an effective plan of care can be developed. Lastly, stay away from the things which you've found that caused it in the first place, such as loud noise or certain medicines. After all that, you won't be asking what makes up a tinnitus test! - 17273

Tinnitus Retraining Therapy - Help For Ear Ringing

By Matt Hellstrom

Tinnitus retraining therapy is a very useful weapon for individuals suffering from tinnitus. This is a condition that actually has no definitive cure, so being able to control it and have it seem as though it is not actually there is extremely helpful to those sufferers so that they can go about their daily lives in a normal fashion.

For those people that have never heard of tinnitus or are not aware of the condition itself, it is when you constantly hear a noise in your ears that no one else can hear. You know the symptoms, a ringing or a buzzing that will simply just not go away. At some point in about 20% of the population, tinnitus has been experienced at one level or another.

Since the condition cannot be cured in most cases, it must be managed. How you manage the problem is through the tinnitus retraining therapy where you learn to re-associate the noise with the negative connotation that it currently carries for you and make it almost non-existent in your life.

With this approach, it is apparent that you do not have to eliminate the condition to alleviate the pain or discomfort that the patient is experiencing. If you want to relate this to something to understand it a little better, picture the person that lives on the same block as the elevated train goes down. When they first move there, they are probably up all night as the train will keep them awake. Over time, they get used to the noise and it just becomes a part of their everyday life and they are able to simply ignore it and act as though it does not exist.

When you realize that as much as 17% of the population has or will experience tinnitus, you can see how important a tinnitus retraining therapy such as this is. Imagine being debilitated by a noise so much that you were not able to concentrate on your work or just function in everyday life. That noise not going away could literally be enough to drive you crazy.

If you are not experiencing the symptoms but are worried that you may, simply take preventative measures to ensure that you don't. It is infinitely easier to try to reduce or not engage in activities that may cause tinnitus than it is to try to cure it once it develops.

You can lower the volume, you can wear ear plugs and you can control or even eliminate the stress in your life if you put a concentrated effort forward to do so. Tinnitus retraining therapy can assist you in tuning out the annoying sounds in the environment, but it's up to you to make sensible choices when it comes to your own noise pollution. - 17273

Things To Consider When Choosing A Food Supplement Or Any Supplement

By Dean Cantwell

When searching for a food supplement you should choose carefully. By doing proper research you will find products that are good for your health without wasting your time and money. Whole food supplements are different from other supplements you will find in the market.

With thousands of supplements in the market today it's important to understand what supplements work and what supplements do not work. Manufacturers use all types of advertising to promote their products. Have you ever seen the advertisement "lose 30 pounds in 30 days"? Do you really believe this advertising?

You can go through the process of trial and error which is not only time-consuming but also expensive. I don't recommend this process. Your goal is to select a supplement that will make a difference in your health. Our choice is whole food supplements.

By doing a little research when choosing a whole food supplement you will avoid those costly trial and error mistakes. Remember that high quality products are supplements that work and are not necessarily the most costly product.

The process that I use when choosing a supplement is to find out who uses it and is there any credible research to back up the product. Remember that a whole food supplement is different than an isolated supplement such as vitamin C.

The elite class of nutritional supplements are whole food supplements. The term synergistic, is the term that describes the elements of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that require the presence of each other in a way that nature intended to give you the best benefits. So taking a stand-alone supplement such as vitamin C, is not as effective as getting your vitamin C from an orange. Thus whole food supplements contain the whole food and not just an isolated vitamin or mineral.

When researching a supplement on the market you should ask "Where are the third-party, randomized, double-blind, peer reviewed, published studies to support the claims being made?" You will eliminate 99% of the supplements on the market by asking this question. Because of the Internet it is easy to find bona fide studies that you can rely on. Be sure and use respected journals such as the professional journal of Medicine and Science in Sports and Exercise or the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

I also like to ask my friends and coworkers to determine if they are already using the product that I am researching. You can read the testimonials from the manufacturer but to get honest opinions will typically come from people you know and trust. - 17273

Old Wives' Tales About Remedies For Healing Bruising, Debunked!

By Carolyn Cooper

A humorous thing about old wives' tales is that sometimes they can end up as being believable. Consider, it was not very long ago, that we had no way of knowing how beneficial things like blueberries and apple cider vinegar could be for us. However, the contrary can also be true, and you'll learn that there are many of these urban legends out there that get promoted as fact, in particular when we are discussing natural conditions like bruising. Bruises are present for different lengths of time for each of us, and it is too easy to accept that someone has found a magic cure for bruising when truth of the matter might just be the existence of a unusually strong immune system. Take enough time to ponder how to weed out any of these unproven cures that might have been relayed to you as the finest bruise treatment ever. You may just discover that there are no silver bullets.

Bruise Massage

While massaging the bruise can break up the blood clot, massaging the bruise is only going soothe the area if done gently or aggravate the area if done too roughly. While a massage can be very gentle, you'll find that it stimulates the flow of blood to the area. When you are dealing with broken blood vessels, this is not something that you want to encourage at this point. If you do end up wanting to massage the area, do it very gently and with the expectation that you may be making the discoloration worse.

Grated Black Pepper

There is an old wives' tale that tells us that pepper actually makes the blood leave the site of a bruise. Pepper may have some substances in it that can reduce the pain a little bit, but the fact of the matter is that putting pepper on a bruise is likely going to cause a mess. You can find other remedies that do the same thing or much better, so keep the pepper in the spice rack.

Baking Soda

Now we've gotten to remedies that can be helpful some of the time, but generally not nearly as much as others profess. Baking soda is very beneficial when you're desirous of calming down inflamed (as in burned) skin, and it might even soothe a portion of the discoloration, but in all actuality it is not going to affect a bruise that is very dark, and it will not cause the bruise to heal any quicker.

Raw Meat

This is one a lot of us have seen and perhaps we have even experienced, but raw meat, no matter how good the cut, isn't going to help you cure the bruise. I've heard plenty of debates over what kind of meat is best for the job, and the answer is that they are all about the same. The only benefit for putting raw meat against a bruise is that it presumably just came out of the freezer, and the cold can help reduce swelling. The meat belongs on your dinner plate, not on your bruise.

Take some time to figure out which, if any, of these old wives' tales have the potential to be helpful to you, and which ones are just a lot of baloney. Find a cure that really delivers, and leave these old, unproved cures alone. - 17273
