Free Muscle Building Workouts, Shoulders

Developing the shoulders is an important aspect of bodybuilding. In addition to looking amazing when doing a double back bicep pose, they make you look terrific when standing. If you develop your side deltoids in proportion to the biceps, the arms and biceps look large and well defined.

The shoulder area consists of the muscles of the posterior, medial and anterior deltoid. The rotator cuff muscles and the upper trapezius are included in the whole shoulder girdle.

The deep rotator cuff muscles connect several parts of the thoracic region to the back, side, or front of the humerus. Upper trapezius muscles are the muscles that run from the back of the neck; extend to the medial deltoid, then downward to intersect with the middle trapezius. Going further back on the shoulder, below the lower portion of the upper trapezius, is the posterior deltoid muscle. The outer part of the shoulder is a where the medial deltoid lies, with the anterior deltoid muscle being visible outside of the pectoral muscles.

When lifting the arm, each shoulder performs a different, and specific, function. The anterior deltoid is responsible for bringing the arm forward, inward and for rotating the arm. The medial deltoid allows the arm to move away from the side. When the arm goes back the posterior deltoid will come into play. When the scapula is moved upward toward the ears, like shrugging your shoulders, the upper trapezius muscle does the job. Finally, the rotator cuff muscles secure the arm as it moves and permit its rotation.

To build up the shoulder muscles, exercises such as the military press, Arnold press, lateral raises (bent-over, lying, or standard), and neck/behind-the neck presses, should be performed. Rowing in an upright position as well as while bent over will facilitate building the shoulder area to dramatic size.

Indicative to building massive shoulders is the knowlege of how they work and are kept healthy. Injuries can quickly slam the brakes on any progress you are making, so take extra care to avoid them. One of the most common injuries is to the rotator cuff muscles. Rotator cuff muscles are not particularly large or strong muscles. Try to prevent injuries by including some band work into your shoulder exercises.

In order to reduce the risk of injury double check that you're using the proper weights. You should be able to have control of the weight through the entire movement. If you can't do a complete set of repetitions, or you have to adjust the position of the weight, then you need to lower the weight. Using too much weight puts too much stress on the shoulder and is likely to cause injury. The success to this is all in you using the proper technique using the full range of motion, prior to increasing the weight.

Although building up shoulder muscles takes a bit of effort, bodybuilders concur that the result justifies the work involved. Because each body grows at its own rate, research and patience are vital. - 17273

My family has been successfully following a healthy eating plan for years. It has been very helpful to us by making us have a healthy life.

This diet plan is simple, it makes you stay healthy and enjoy your food at the same time. Let's enumerate first the things that we shouldn't eat.

We don't eat all kinds of processed foods. No sweets, white flour, processed oils, white flour, white rice, fried foods. Definitely no junk foods or eating at any fast food stores as well. We don't drink sodas, coffee and alcohol, even fruit juices.

You might think that everything is a no. This free healthy eating plan will guide you to everything that you need to know.

This diet plan should focus on eating natural whole foods.

For instance, we have to eat lots of fruits and vegetables, but that is just not enough, the trick here is that you have to eat at least nine servings everyday. To do this, you have to eat some per meal, even during snack time.

Fresh and organic foods are the best, but if it isn't available, frozen foods can be used as a substitute.

Because milk is a processed food, we don't drink it, but we still need to include dairy in our diet. We eat low-fat organic yogurt, kefir and cheese, and some no-salt organic butter to add with.

Olive oil is our main and best choice for cooking foods and making salads.

The cheese that we intake are generally, cheddar, Swiss, mozzarella or feta, and we never go overboard with it. Fresh fruits and raw nuts are best for sweetening a plain yogurt and kefir.

Using whole grains have much greater flavor and gives more nutrition the moment you get used to it, so this is the only thing we use. It includes breads that are mostly sprouted, cereals, rice and pastas.

Sprouting the whole grains before you use them, increases its protein and digestibility. Do double check that you are using products with no-added sugar.

There are always eggs in every home just like bread. We eat them in different kinds of way, whether that be, scrambled, hard-boiled, omelette, egg-sandwiches, poach or egg toast. You choose what you want and you'll never get tired of it, we go through as many dozens of eggs in a week, imagine that?

We don't eat meat everyday, but we always have fish and poultry. It gives us a great source of lean protein and the fish adds greater benefit by being rich in omega 3 fatty acids.

Even if we eat the healthy way, we still take food supplements; this is to ensure that we are getting all of the essentials of fatty acids, amino acids, fiber, vitamins, minerals and phytonutrients that we need to stay well and healthy.

And, this is my family's free healthy eating plan. All that is left for you to know right now is to drink lots of water, and if you want to lose weight, burn more calories of what you eat daily.

Energy Drinks Are Unsafe For Teenagers

These days, the desire for a quick fix is causing more problems than it is solving, so its a good thing that healthy energy drinks are being manufactured. While it might look like we have quick answers to our problems, they are often short-term solutions, which do nothing to fix the situation permanently. Sadly, one of the "quick fixes" that we are becoming increasingly addicted to and which seems to be the favorite of many people is the energy drink. Whether it is Red Bull or Power Horse, energy drinks give us the instant energy boost that we might need at that point in time.

But because of the abundance of these drinks, it is constantly available to teenagers and kids who can purchase them for a few dollars each. Sadly, research has shown that kids who drink profuse amounts of energy drinks are at a risk of exhibiting rowdy behaviors and increased violence levels. According to the Journal of American College Health, "Miller and colleagues found that a compilation of behaviors known as "toxic jock syndrome" was correlated with high consumption of energy drinks.

Toxic jock syndrome includes symptoms such as substance abuse, unprotected sex and violence". With this research proven in different related studies, it is only natural to see that teenagers and frequent energy drink consumption is not a good combination. So, if you have got a teenage son or daughter, try as much as possible to dissuade them from drinking these drinks too frequently and instead teach them to live healthy lives by adopting healthy lifestyles.

As if taking excess energy drinks are not enough, research has shown that an astonishing 49% of all teenagers are into some kind of substance abuse. This basically means that about 1 in every 2 teenagers you find in high schools are into some kind of drugs. Not only are they into drugs, a larger majority are into alcohol abuse. A recent survey among youths showed that British girls were known to be the most violent females in the world.

When you look at the rate of alcohol consumption in the United Kingdom, you will understand why this is so. The average British chap somehow gets involved in binge drinking at least once a week. Binge drinking is simply drinking lots of beer at once -this could be between 5-20 bottles in one sitting. Now teenagers have discovered a very potent combination that will get them just as high as drugs or marijuana. This is the mixture of energy drinks and alcohol. This deadly combination makes it a lot more risky for teenagers because of the health implications.

A survey carried out in ten schools located in North Carolina showed that students who took a combination of these drinks often needed medical attention and were virtually ignorant of the fact that they were drunk. This is not shocking as it is possible that the large amounts of caffeine in most energy drinks is accountable for high energy levels in spite of how much alcohol you drank. So, if you find your teenager son having a lot of these, maybe you had better be on the lookout.

They found that students who mixed the drinks got drunk twice as often, were more likely to be injured or require medical treatment while intoxicated, and were more likely to perpetrate or experience sexual assault than students who drank alcohol alone. The effect was not related to the amount of alcohol consumed.

Some researchers have recommended that because the caffeine in energy drinks tends to make folks feel more energetic, people who mix the drinks with alcohol do not understand how high they are and are more likely to take foolish risks.

"You're every bit as drunk, you're just an awake drunk," said researcher Mary Claire O'Brien of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, N.C.

So, it's a good thing that a healthy energy drink has been formulated, so that teenagers can benefit from them. - 17273
