Body Building Workouts, How to Exercise Your Legs

By Ricardo d Argence

It does not matter a jot whether you are somebody trying to get fit or a professional athlete or bodybuilder. You need to make sure that your legs are definitely not neglected while you are working out. Many people tend to concentrate more on exercising their arms and chest muscles. However, it is necessary that you make sure your legs are exercised as much as other parts of your body.

Now having read about exercises and the burning of fat through muscles, you may have understood the reason behind adding muscle Mass in your legs. A couple of more pounds in muscles in your legs are going to benefit your whole body.

Anabolic hormones which are needed to stimulate overall muscular growth are released when your leg muscles begin to develop even more. You do not have so many muscles in your arm region, so it is logical that the larger muscles of your leg would release more anabolic hormones.

For the aesthetic purposes, who wants to look at someone built up on the top and skinny at the bottom? Working out your legs provides a balanced body. You want to look good all over if you are working out.

The best way to do a leg workout routine is to push those leg muscles to near failure . Perform 8 to 12 reps per set, doing 2-4 sets per exercise. It's advisable to work each major muscle with 2-5 different exercises (depending on your tolerance level and workout experience).

Do take one minute off between sets. This time is enough to let the muscles recover-so that you can begin lifting the weight again -- but not relax them. Relaxation of the leg muscles will stop the release of the anabolic hormones.

Once you have decided upon the look you want for your legs- lean mean look or muscled look- select the proper and best exercises, which can help you achieve your goal.

Remember to warm up by jogging or cardio exercises just before you start upon working out your legs. This prevents wear and tear of your joint muscles.

Some other warming up exercises include calf rises, leg extensions, hamstring curls, power cleans, dead lifts, and squats. All these and other exercises depend upon your workout level These sets with reps can be tailor made according to your requirements.

You need to consult with a trained trainer, before you begin your leg exercise workouts. Caution is needed with this exercise routine, like with all other routines. A little bit of work and time will make your legs look really great when displayed in shorts!

Apart from this, you are going to look great, feel great and find that your performance is going to be greatly enhanced in sports, general activities and workouts! - 17273
