It seems like there are so many weight loss programs on the market today they can't even be counted, and they all seem to have their own diet secrets to lose fat. There is the famous Weight Watchers diet, or you may prefer the milk and cookies diet. But whatever your preference, there are different pros and cons for them all compared to your current lifestyle and food habits.

To move you along on your mission to lose fat I will tell you a few tips to help you achieve your weight loss goals. A few of the things I tell you might sounds like the opposite of what you are used to hearing, but stay with me. First of all, you need to eat more. That's right, you heard me, eat more. You should be consuming five to six meals a day compared to the usual three. The idea is that with and increased frequency of consumption your metabolism will also increase. This will in turn increase the burning of fat.

If you are adjusting your diet for fat loss it should include foods rich in protein in every meal. Scientists have found that protein is highest in Thermogenesis Induced by the Diet or TID levels. TID is the energy the body uses to diegest nutrients, the higher TID level, the more energy your body uses.

You should also increase foods rich in carbohydrates and low on the GI index, or Glycemic Index. This is the rate of conversion of carbohydrates to glucose that enter the bloodstream. This is vital for a diet intended to lose fat because the secretion of insulin is caused by carbohydrates; insulin progresses fat tissue in the body. Therefore, eating foods low on the GI index reduces development of adipose tissues because it also lowers the rate of glucose entering the bloodstream.

There are other helpful things that can be done to tweak your diet to lose fat. The few tips included in this article should be a great starting point for you and your weight loss goals. But the most important factor in your weight loss program is your determination. - 17273
