Spiritual Eating Secrets - 5 Barriers That Stop You From Having A Healthy Relationship With Food

By Jeffrey Harold

Having a healthy relationship with food is like writing yourself a golden ticket to your optimal weight for your entire life. When you've let go of the diet mindset and are ready to change, you get excited about what could happen.

Unfortunately, there are some things that could stop you from developing this healthy relationship.

1. Desiring Only Results - One leftover behavior from dieting that always hurts is constantly looking at the scale for results. Making peace with food means forgetting about the number on the scale and focusing on healthy food and how it makes you feel.

2. Not Being Grateful - If you're feeling forced to eat healthy foods, you're going about it all wrong. You have to recognize that you've been given the energy of abundance (money) to exchange for the energy of life (food). Feeling this gratitude is essential - without it, you're not recognizing just how powerful simple, clean, healthy foods are.

3. Focusing On Loss, Not Gain - If focusing on results is bad behavior, so is focusing on the concept of weight loss and not the appreciation of the right foods. Focus like this blocks new and helpful food experiences from revealing themselves to you.

4. Letting Your Emotions Control You - The more you're identified with your emotions, the less ability you have to make the best decisions. Anytime boredom or worry gets in the mix of your decision making process, you start forgetting the real function that food plays in our lives.

5. Not Recognizing Your Thoughts - The vast majority of us hold onto thoughts about food that aren't as healthy as they should be. You must start right now to begin recognizing them and finding new thoughts about food to replace them with. Identifying with your thoughts and doing what they tell you to do causes you to lose the ability to develop a healthy relationship with food. - 17273
