How Is the Body Affected by Too Much Acid?

Overacidity can influence the body in innumerable ways, and this article will only discuss some of these. The easiest aspect to comprehend is the relationship between excess acid and osteoporosis. Finally, overacidity can create mild hypothyroidism, resulting in depression, tiredness, and difficulty concentrating, along with other symptoms.

The Key to Restoring Acid Alkaline Balance

Countless factors can alter your internal acid alkaline balance, including your genetics, your state of health, and even your emotional state. In most cases, however, chronic low-grade metabolic acidosis is the consequence of imperfect dietary choices.

For this reason, your best option is to stress alkalizing foods in your approach to eating. This isn't to say that you should stop eating acid-forming foods altogether. In fact, a diet consisting of only alkaling-producing foods would be imbalanced as well as unhealthy.

Instead, set a goal of changing how you eat so that 65 to 80 percent of the foods are alkaline-forming. The remaining 20 to 35 percent should consist of nutrient-dense acid-forming foods, such as beans, prunes, and spinach.
