5 Tips For Weight Loss At George Washington University

When you are attending George Washington University, weight loss is something that might be on your mind. Maybe you'd just like to trim off a few of those winter pounds or maybe you feel that it is time for a whole new you! The truth of the matter is that weight loss is difficult and doing it when you have a plate full of academics and activities can be difficult. If you want to keep off the infamous Freshman Fifteen or you want to start losing, there are a few ways that you can get started.

1. Get in some exercise: How much do you really exercise in a day? Most probably you are not getting the required amount of exercise by just walking around campus. You should think about taking a P.E. class or maybe even try the campus gym. Since you are a student at George Washington University, you can benefit from the amenities available to you. When you are increasing your metabolism and having fun while doing it losing weight does not feel all that difficult.

2. Early to bed, early to rise: One of the reasons that eating schedules get knocked out of sync is due to irregular sleep and waking times. This can be very tempting when you are thinking about hanging out with friends or even when you are pulling all nighters with your studies, but remember that you should get sleep and wake up at a decent time. It will help your body stay on track with regards to sleeping and eating.

3. Eat healthy: You need to take some time to consider your food choices on your way to the cafeteria at George Washington University. Are you going to take the high road and go for the salad bar or are you heading for the junk food and deserts? Living on your own at dorms leads you to make important decisions about your eating habits for yourself. It is up to you to make the right choices that will not lead you to put on weight and that are good for your body.

4. Watch your stress levels: University life is certainly stressful, and a lot of unwelcome health problems can come from it, weight gain issues being one of them. You should try taking walks, reading or even talking to family and friends, in order to keep your stress levels down so that your body can stay in control.

5. Try Cross-training: Doing any exercise over and over again will lead to it losing its effectiveness. Give some thought to the various exercise options available to you to make sure you find what works best for you.
