Following the HCG Protocol for Weight Loss: Article 11
I got my HCG kit. It came by mail yesterday. I immediately unpacked it and gave you a quick rundown in yesterday's article of each of the products. I ordered the homeopathic HCG weight loss formula and the B-Total Sublingual. But I didn't say much about the actual HCG protocol for weight loss as contained within their included instruction manual. So that's what you have to look forward to for today.
The booklet first provides some basic information on the HCG diet as a whole. Society in general has a problematic relationship with food. Bad habits, convenience foods, and large portions have created an epidemic. I've heard it called an obesity epidemic. They outlined the basic how and why of HCG changing the negative effects of society on the dieters relationship with foods and how their body handles fat. By following the HCG protocol for weight loss many believe that we could actually make a dent in the fight to decrease the negative effects our society suffers as a direct result of obesity.
Then you get some general words of wisdom about what's to come on the HCG diet. They said stuff like...don't be surprised by zero weight loss one day followed by a couple or a few pounds lost the next. That's normal. It's because of the way your body responds to the HCG and the fat cells that are being emptied as you follow the 500 calorie diet. When a fat cell is emptied it's often filled with water temporarily before your body decides to absorb it.
The next section in the booklet is filled with useful information. They called it the Helpful Hints & Products section. I'll share a few of the "hints" that stuck with me. They mentioned that dieters should watch their salt intake; it increases water retention. They also mentioned lotions and moisturizers. You're not allowed to use them on the HCG diet. They contain oils and fats that your skin will absorb and the whole point of the diet is that you're not providing it with fat. They also mentioned buffalo as a very healthy alternative you can use to mix up your protein regime. And I have to admit that it does sound interesting. I'll have to check out the cookbook and see if I can find a recipe for buffalo. I might just get tired of chicken and lean cuts of steak.
And THEN they started to get right down to it outlining the HCG protocol for weight loss. First I have to say that they did say absolutely no diet soda or Crystal Light. I'm disappointed, but I understand. It's definitely not good for me, I've always known that. But they don't allow it on the diet because of the type of sweetener it uses. You're also not allowed gums or mints. We already discussed how lotions and moisturizers are outlawed. You also can't include butter or oil or any sort of dressing that has any oil or fat in it with any of your foods. The rules for taking the drops are simple. You have to take them three times per day. Each time you take the designated amount and hold it under your tongue for 15 seconds before swallowing. You don't eat or drink for 15 minutes before you take it. And you don't eat or drink for 15 minutes after you take it.
I'll share more hints and extras from the booklet in the next article, but for today I'm going to wrap it up. I'm tired. But I'm happy. I think I made a good choice. All the information seems really straight forward and easy to understand. There aren't contradictions that leave me unsettled and I'm absolutely excited to see the results of the diet. - 17273
