The Benefits Of Fish Oil

By Wanda McCall

Fish oil is very good for you and contains the chemical Omega 3 which has been proven by science to offer an outstanding number of health benefits. Omega 3 is quite often referred to as fatty acid and it is found in various sources. This important chemical used to be found in our diets but these days it is much rarer than it used to be.

There are many benefits offered by fish oil and just some of these include the boosting of the immune system and an increase in cardiovascular health. It is also been shown to help to prevent cancer and the early onset of Alzheimer's. Fish is informally known as brain food for a reason. Fish oil does help to increase the function of the brain and to help preserve its better.

Discovered for its amazing health benefits in the last century, it has since been proven that Omega 3 should be an essential part of any healthy diet. There are three main sources for fish oil. These are tinned fish, fresh fish and dietary supplements which may come in the form of something you add to your food or some types of medication such as a pill which you take every day.

Indeed the benefits of Omega 3 are so great and proven that they have been approved by a number of standards organisations such as the United States' Food and Drug Administration. Not liking fish is not necessarily a problem either since you can take fish oil in the form of tablets as well.

However, there is no getting away from the fact that the best source of fish oil comes from entirely natural resources. That is fish which does not come from fish farms. Farmed fish tends to contain a number of contaminants which can offset the benefits of fish oil. - 17273
