What is the Oolong Tea Diet?

You may have heard of a diet that involves drinking glasses of oolong tea for weight reduction. This diet has been called Wuyi diet or oolong diet, named after the Wuyi Mountains in China, where the oolong originates from.

The Oolong diet gets the weight loss benefits from the Polyphenol, which is a compound known to control obesity, by curbing appetite and speeding up the metabolism.

So what is oolong tea diet? It is a diet that is rich in antioxidants like those of other teas green and black but goes through a slightly different aging process. It goes through a roasting phase and ends up being richer, and darker in color because of the region it originates from.

The difference in flavor between green tea and oolong tea is because green tea leaves lose their minerals after the first brewing. You can brew oolong tea leaves many times and their flavor gets better after each time.

How does the oolong tea diet work? It's polyphenols help at speeding up your metabolism which causes you to burn more calories and it helps to flush out more toxins. The polyphenol helps to dissolve triglycerides which cause and store fat in your body. This helps in the digestive process and your body will be more cleansed.

Also, the oolong diet tea helps you feel fuller, and most people will drink five to six glasses per day, mainly half an hour before meal time, and then they eat less. - 17273
