DDR: Dancing Game That Helps You Lose Weight

By Mitch Hawkins

Quite a significant number of people drop their weight loss programs because of boredom and the repetition of the same routines. Another reason why people quit their weight programs because of the demands that sometimes border on the ridiculous. But what really makes people just stop doing their programs is that most of these programs do not deliver what they promise in the first place.

People who are trying to get their weight off their bodies does not needs programs that do not deliver the goods. They need to be motivated. They need to enjoy what they are doing if they want to really excel in it. Weight loss may be a hard thing to accomplish but if people really enjoy it, then losing weight is as easy as pie.

Some people who have been quite successful with their quest of shedding their pounds away found an answer in a video game. Literally, they are dancing their weight away. In fact, studies show that people who have been playing the phenomenal Dance Dance Revolution have reported significant drop in their weights.

But what is Dance Dance Revolution and how does this game work? Is it really effective as most people say? What are the benefits aside from the probable loss of pounds? These are some of the queries that will be answered as you read on.

Dance Dance Revolution, or commonly referred to as DDR, is one of the most-played PlayStation video games all over the world. Unlike traditional video games however, players are to dance on a special mat called the Dance Pad in order to play the game. The Dance Pad is a PS equipment shaped like a square containing nine squares. Each square represents a button of the PS controller / joystick. The dance pad is then connected to the controller slot of the PS console.

Playing the game is relatively easy - place your foot on the square that corresponds to the button shown in your TV screen. What makes it hard- and fun - is that the game gets a little bit complex as you go along. Complicated steps, faster music, and lot of buttons to step on makes the game addicting as it is.

Playing DDR is so fun that people who are using it as a weight loss program totally forget they are on a weight loss program. DDR does not have that boring quality and the fun it brings to the table motivates people to do even better. As a matter of fact, lots of people who are trying to lose weight hold DDR competitions. Such fact makes losing weight really enjoyable. - 17273
