Pregnancy First, Weight Loss After

By Steve Esquire

Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman's life that brings with it a glorious blessing after nine months. A few fortunate women sail through their pregnancies and their bodies bounce back without a hitch or any additional weight gain. For the majority of the women though this is not the case. The key to getting the weight off is diet, exercise and massage chair therapy.

One reality that pregnant women must face is that they naturally gain weight during pregnancy. Many women can find that after the pregnancy that they may have more weight than wanted. This can be caused by the body retaining more fluid. Usually retained fluids will be lost within the first three weeks after giving birth. You may notice more sweating than usual and more frequent trips to the bathroom.

However, you need to prepare yourself for the worst case scenario. Understanding why you have this additional weight gain and realizing that it is only temporary is necessary for your emotional well-being. It can be conquered and you will lose the extra weight with hard work, perseverance, and an iron will.

Is anyone not giving advice about losing weight? You can find many suggestions, but like anything, it starts with the basics. We have heard them all before. You will hear them again. Diet. Exercise. Massage Therapy. Write them down and memorize them, because you will see them again.

Start with your diet. Do you eat fresh or processed foods? Be real and honest. The diet is a function of budget and cooking experience. You can either afford to buy prepared healthy foods or make them yourself. Find a way to incorporate FRESH food. These are the ones that are not frozen. Use frozen meats like chicken and fish and make with vegetables. Get an indoor Grill instead of deep frying.

When you are out and having to face fast food choices, keep in mind that sodium is your enemy. Sodium or salt naturally helps you retain and maintain your water levels. During pregnancy, you normally build up more weight and a large part of this is water weight. Lower your intake of salt and you will also lose water weight. Go for bottled water over drinks with high sugar amounts. Avoid soda and many juice products.

The next important step is exercise. First, get your physicians approval for when exercise is appropriate for you. Go for a walk! It is the perfect exercise. Your baby will love it too. Push the stroller and get your baby used to going out with you. It is a win-win.

One way to help shed some pounds is with breast feeding. Breast feeding can negate up to 500 calories of intake per day. This is a dieting dream. Breast feeding makes diet and nutrition even more important as your intake is for two. You can consult with your doctor about how you can go about losing weight and breastfeeding.

Massage therapy has been used throughout the ages for recovery and healing. Your body goes through tremendous changes during pregnancy and after as well. You have to deal with improving your diet and exercising. You also need time for your to recover. A quick massage from a massage chair is ideal. Its the friend you need, when you need. Relief is finally on your schedule.

One of the toughest things to do during and after pregnancy is checking your weight. Most women fear the worst. Weight has such a psychological and emotional baggage with it. Women can't believe they are just gaining weight so fast during pregnancy while they worked their whole life to not have it. Be realistic with your weight loss targets. Just a hint, it did take you nine months to gain it.

Pregnancy is a wonderful experience and the greatest gift of life. As with all important health issues, speak with your medical doctor about what is right for you. Weight loss is important, but make sure you get the doc's blessing on what you do. Find out how diet, exercise and massage chair therapy can help you find that new balance. - 17273
