The Best Chocolate Covered Strawberries - The Fruits Of Your Labor

By Roy Washington

A hot summer day and the strawberries are in season. Chocolate covered strawberries are a great way to use a lot of the bonanza of fruit that hits the stores in the warm months.

Nearly everyone loves strawberries. By selecting good sources - whether cultivating them yourself or buying from nearby producers or organic co-ops and markets - you can offer the best to your own health and those whom with you share. Plus you'll have the best stuff for making hand dipped chocolate berries.

Hand dipped strawberries in white chocolate, dark chocolate, or any other assorted treats, make for a healthy and good-for-you snack after a meal. You can feel confident about giving this to your kids. Instead of artificial candies with dyes, bad sweeteners and more, you can have nature's bounty drizzled with a bit of cocoa bean product and really enjoy.

Raising your own strawberry plant isn't difficult if you take a little time and care. It's a matter of getting properly watered and drained soil. You want ample amounts of sunlight. You want a good soil to start with as well of course.

Being able to grow strawberries that you can eventually turn into chocolate delicacies can take a bit of patience. Perhaps you may be lucky and start right off the bat with a very healthy and growing plant. Water, light, soil, and plant condition all are factors that may need to be adjusted. Subsequent plantings can take these into account.

Enjoying the bliss of a freshly picked strawberry is a memory to treasure. If you've ever received a chocolate covered strawberry package as a gift, you know how much fun those are too. By doing this yourself, you'll gain appreciation of the fun process, and gain confidence in the ability you have to take the fruits of a plant that you've grown, from soil all the way to your table. - 17273
